Services Offered

Most students begin with Making Melodies’ free “readiness” lesson.  The question, “Is my child really ready to play the piano?” is answered before mom and/or dad’s eyes at the first experience with the instructor.  You will observe the capability of the instructor and the readiness, or not, of your child.  After this half-hour you will know whether your child is ready to learn and whether you want him/her to learn at Making Melodies Piano Studio Brookfield.

The majority of students/families opt for a weekly half-hour lesson. This begins with a warm-up, reviews old materials, introduces new concepts and skills.  Your child will quickly learn a new musical vocabulary and develop knowledge and skills at the keyboard.  At the studio’s reasonable rates, some parents have opted for a bi-weekly lesson schedule.  Lessons and practice at home must always stay “fun.”

All students have the opportunity to participate, free of any additional charge, in both a Christmas and Spring Recital.  These recitals are presented in the nave of historic St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wauwatosa, with its beautiful Steinway grand piano and marvelous acoustics.

After-school lesson times are limited.  Over the years, current families have often graciously adjusted their schedules to allow the handful of new students each year to fit in.

Each year a few students apply who do not have their own piano at home, but only a keyboard.  Making Melodies has been able to help interested families acquire a very serviceable, free piano in such cases.  This very special service only occurs after the student has begun a lesson program.

Recently, vocal lessons have been added in response to interest. Speak with the instructor in regard to this service.
